There are myriad reasons people move. They are all pretty stressful. Often the house just doesn’t work for them anymore. Here is a list of the main reasons I see people move –
- Divorce
- Marriage
- Death
- Additional family members (children or elder care, even pets)
- Downsizing
- Upsizing
- Death
- Financial changes – Increased debt or decreased income
- Mobility issues/disease (need for les stairs, wider doors, level entry, etc.)
With the current pandemic, most people are spending more time at home and finding they may need more storage or outside space than they currently have. Home offices are being dusted off and updated or created out of dining rooms. Children are needing more than just a homework nook for schooling. We are trying to store more non-perishables and pantry/closet space is appreciated even more now. Dog parks are closed and trails are crowded.
If any of these things are going on in your life, know that there is a home out there that will meet your new needs. Whatever your reason for moving, I’d love to help you talk through it and what your needs and goals are.
